Wedding dresses have long been a passion of mine as they often rekindle memories of all the fantastic theatre costumes I've worked on over the years. Your wedding is probably the biggest fashion event of your life and you need to know your precious dress is in safe hands, and with over 30 years experience I think it's safe to say I'll take the greatest care of your beautiful dress. After all, your dress is such a huge part of your wedding day.
So when should you get in touch?
It's never too soon to get in touch is probably the best answer to that question. Last year I turned away more work than I actually took on as my order book for the entire year was pretty much full for weddings by January! Whilst the actual fittings and sewing only really take about 6 weeks I can't stress enough how important it is to get in the queue as soon as you can to ensure I'm actually available to alter your dress. I limit the number of wedding gowns I take on to ensure every client gets the full attention they deserve.
As a guide, and going by previous years I would advise contacting me at least 6-12 MONTHS ahead of your wedding.
You can even
pre-book your fittings if your dress is is on order.
Left it a little late?
Don't worry! Sometimes I do have availability for last minute alterations so it's always worth dropping me a message or giving me a call to see if I can accommodate your wedding date and the type of alterations required.
So how do you go about getting your gown altered?
You can either call or email me to arrange a
NO OBLIGATION CONSULTATION.
These are available on a Monday, Tuesday, & Friday during the hours of 2pm to 6pm. (I'm sewing the rest of the time)
It's best to allow an hour for your initial appointment. To book an appointment a £20 non-returnable consultation fee is required to cover the cost of our initial meeting.

During your appointment you will have the opportunity to try on your dress and I can take a look and see what needs to be done to ensure you look your best on your big day. It's at this point I'll be able to give you a definite quote on the alterations required on your dress.
As no two dresses are the same visually and how they are made it's impossible for me to quote for work until I can actually see the garment on.
You then have 24 hours to decide. If you are happy with the quote and decide to proceed we'll then look at mutually suitable appointment dates for your fittings. Wedding dresses usually require 3 fittings but more complex alterations may need considerably more. I aim to complete all dresses no later than 4 weeks prior to your big day. You'll then be invited back for your final fitting to make sure everything is just perfect.
But that's it. I aim to make your experience as stress free and relaxing as possible with a personal touch that you wouldn't necessarily get with a shop.
If I've forgotten anything please either email me, Facebook message via my business page (click on the Facebook icon above) or give me a call and I'll happily answer any questions you may have.
With thanks to all these beautiful ladies who kindly gave me their permission to publish photos of their special day.
It was an absolute pleasure working with you all and congratulations!
